Freezing temperatures cause pipe to burst in Brookfield
When a winter storm hit with strong winds and temperatures in the single digits, the pipes in the ceiling of this Brookfield establishment froze and burst. The ceiling tiles were damaged from the water as was the rug that they fell on.
The SERVPRO of Newtown and Southern Litchfield County crew was called quickly to the job and was able to extract the water from the carpet, thus saving it. We removed the damaged ceiling tiles as well as the debris that the burst pipe caused. We also utilized air movers to bring the moisture levels down.
It was a relatively small job for us however because we were called immediately and were able to be on the job quickly, the damage was minimal and the owner was able to be back in business within a few days.
